Sewage submersible pumps
are single suction pumps with overall non-clogging impeller. Pumps can be
offered in stationery as well as transportable arrangement. They are directly
driven by an air-filled electric motor cooled by surrounding sewage. The impeller
is directly mounted onto the extended shaft of the motor and there is no
coupling in between. At the shaft, two mechanical seal are provided for
effective sealing of the motor from the sewage. Both the seals run in oil. For
motor protection, sensors are provided in the winding which trip the circuit on
reaching a pre-set temperature. Pumps are also provided with sensing device to
signal against ingress of water into the oil chamber.
